Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married in Las Vegas

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck married at a Las Vegas drive-thru chapel on Saturday, tying together a relationship that spanned twenty years in two separate romances and headlined countless tabloid covers.

 

Lopez announced their marriage on Sunday in a newsletter to fans with the caption, “We did.” Lopez initially made their engagement public in April in the same newsletter, “On the J Low.”

“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And love is patient. Twenty years of patience emerges,” Lopez wrote in a message signed by Jennifer Lynn Affleck.

 

The couple flew to Las Vegas on Saturday, lined up with four other couples for their licenses, and married just after midnight at the Little White Chapel, a chapel that boasts a “tunnel of love,” Lopez wrote. A Bluetooth speaker played their brief march down the aisle, Lopez said. Jennifer Lopez mentioned it that this night is the best night of her life.

 

“Wait for long enough and maybe one day you will find the best moment of your life in Las Vegas at 12:30 a.m. in the Tunnel of Love drive-thru with your kids. Forever,” Lopez said.

 

News of their marriage broke on Sunday after Nevada’s Clark County Clerk’s Office showed the couple had obtained a marriage license processed on Saturday. Jennifer Affleck, Lopez plans to take the name while the marriage license filing showed that. 

 

Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, sparked the nickname “Bennifer” in the early 2000s before rekindling their romance last year. They previously starred together in 2003’s Gigli and 2004’s Jersey Girl. They were engaged but never married during that period. In 2005 Jennifer Affleck married Jennifer Garner and they got three children. But later in 2018, they got divorced.

 

Lopez was previously married three times. She was briefly married to Ozani Nova from 1997-1998 and to Chris Judd from 2001-2003. She and singer Marc Anthony have been married for a decade after tying the knot in 2004 and share 14-year-old twins together.
