Three people who were injured in the crash have been taken to a nearby hospital, sources said. The accident occurred shortly after the Mi-Series helicopter took off from the military base in Sulur.
Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat, an IAF helicopter carrying his crew and at least one family member crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, and there is still no information on the condition of the CDS. It has been confirmed that 13 of the fourteen crew members have died after an accident in Nilgiris, shortly after take-off from the military base of the Mi-Series helicopter Sulur.
